I was recently browsing the Life photography archives, as one does (some really great vintage photos in there by the way) when I came across a rather…bizarre set of pictures. Apparently in the early 1940’s, Life magazine did a feature on a woman named Mrs. Bullis and her “adopted” squirrel, Tommy Tucker. Please, do yourself a favor and take a look at these odd little gems:
Many questions come to mind. Why was this a Life magazine feature? Why did Mrs. Bullis feel the need to torture poor little Tommy? Did she not think it odd that she was dressing up a squirrel? And what did that man at the Sausage Company think?
Honestly, people are so fascinating and strange!
