And the Eastwood sisters, as they take on the patriarchy and rewrite the narrative, were everything I wanted in fierce female characters. @cynthiafrenette is a gosh darn genius and when I @cynthiafrenette is a gosh darn genius and when I asked her if I could hire her to create new art for my website I’m lucky enough that she said yes. I freaking LOVE what she came up with and now want bookmarks and tote bags and posters and journals and maybe some wallpaper? Is wallpaper overkill? Gah! You’re the best, Cynthia! Thank you for creating something that feels alive with wild, creative energy and also aligns with my memento mori obsession (see also my tattoo). 💀🔥
One day my children will be asked, “How did you One day my children will be asked, “How did you celebrate your mom on Mother’s Day? Did you get her flowers? Candy? Gifts?” “No,” they’ll say, “We took her to the cemetery.”But, listen, I love Greenwood Cemetery! And I love that this is becoming our annual tradition ❤️💀 And this year I couldn’t help but notice all the graves for women who lost children, or who died in child birth. A very stark reminder of how lucky we are every moment we are still here. Also, you can’t walk past a grave like that last one with a 9-year-old and NOT let them read it aloud.
