Magic is all about intention, and what better time Magic is all about intention, and what better time to set an intention than at the full moon? What are you ready to release? What would you like to invite in? Light a candle, drink some tea, take a breath, whatever makes you feel connected to yourself, and ground yourself in the moment so you can be here now and honor exactly where you are and where you are going 💜🌕 #fullmoonintentions #fullmoon #intentions #magicisaboutintention
The holiday season is upon us, so once again I'm h The holiday season is upon us, so once again I'm here to ruin the film that so many people seem to love. This is the hill I will die on. I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again—I’ll have it engraved on my TOMBSTONE—Love, Actually is, unequivocally, the worst. And in a world where this tinsel-covered pile of misogyny has somehow weaseled its way into the hearts and minds of millions of people who find it “sweet” and “romantic” and “flawed but also SO watchable” — in a world where it has somehow wound up in the holiday canon even though the only place it belongs is an actual cannon— SOMEONE needs to be speaking out about it and declaring (in, perhaps, just the slightest unhinged way) how much they loathe this film. And my friends, that someone is me. This year I've compiled my top 10 reasons for loathing this film over on my Substack. No. Did I buy it because I at any point was a high school soccer player deserving of a letterman’s jacket? Also no. Did I buy it because season 1 of this show - which is not only bingeable as hell but also a perfect metaphor for the state of girlhood today - won my undying love and I will follow this show and those ragey, traumatized, cannibals wherever they lead? Yeah. Pretty much. #yellowjackets #teamyellowjackets #teamnatalie
I pulled a tarot card for the day from this gorgeo I pulled a tarot card for the day from this gorgeous Moon Witch deck. “When the King of Wands appears it usually means you should take full control of your energy and your actions. What do you spend your energy on? Are you taking consistent steps toward your goals?” This feels spot. On. I’ve been thinking about this so much lately. Where is my energy best served? And if you saw my latest newsletter you know the answer. Now to go and meditate on that so I can focus my energy 💜🕯️#tarotoftheday #moonwitchtarot #writersofinstagram
I saw this film as a high schooler and to say I wa I saw this film as a high schooler and to say I was obsessed is putting it mildly. I may or may not have made this film my entire personality, more specifically using it as my inspiration for my Homecoming ensemble (hair half up, black velvet dress with bell sleeves, which looked nothing like Claire Danes’s dresses but captured, in my opinion, a certain vibe?). And I may or may not have made myself a ring in my high school jewelry class that looked (a little bit? Maybe?) like Juliet’s wedding ring. And I also may or may not have listened to the film’s soundtrack 2 million times, and made out to this movie at my boyfriend’s house, and printed out images of Leonardo DiCaprio as Romeo for my bedroom walls. Everything about it was iconic. The music (Lovefool! Little Stars! #1 Crush!). The cast (Claire and Leo! Paul Rudd! John Leguizamo! Harold Perrineau!). The costumes (could I now wear angel wings to school? Would that be weird? Or was that cool?). The fish tank scene (OMG. If you know you know). Also as a born and bred Catholic I loved the religious imagery. This wasn’t the first Baz Luhrmann film I’d seen, but it quickly became my favorite, and remains right up there with Moulin Rouge. Also, for the record, that fish tank scene still makes me swoon. #filmflashback #romeoandjuliet1996 #bazluhrmann #leodicaprio #clairedanes #90smusic #90smovies #90s
